Discover, explore and protect the ocean
At Nature Essentielle, we offer unique sea-based programs for children and teenagers on the French Riviera.
Our goal is simple:
to help young people discover the marine world, understand its fragility, and develop a deep connection with the ocean.
All our programs take place in an exceptional environment:
the Lérins Islands, the Estérel coast, and the Pelagos Sanctuary, a protected marine area dedicated to marine mammals.
Discover the marine world
Pelagos Program (ages 8–16)
The Pelagos Program is designed as a first immersive experience in the Mediterranean Sea.
Over 5 days at sea, children explore marine ecosystems through fun and educational activities.
They will:
- practice snorkeling and freediving
- explore the coastline and hidden coves
- discover marine biodiversity
- attend interactive lessons about marine ecosystems
- participate in discussions about ocean protection
This program helps children:
- understand marine life
- develop curiosity
- learn to observe
- become aware of environmental issues
Becoming ocean protectors
Children can also take part in the PADI AWARE Specialist program, learning how to protect the ocean and reduce human impact.
They begin to understand:
- the importance of marine ecosystems
- the role of humans in ocean preservation
- how small actions can make a difference
Optional: scuba diving pathway
For those who want to go further, we offer a full PADI diving pathway.
Depending on age and experience, participants can:
- try a first dive (Discover Scuba Diving)
- start a Junior certification
- continue their training
All certifications follow international PADI standards.
Explore the ocean differently
Only Ado Mer (ages 10–16)
This program is designed for teenagers who want a deeper and more creative experience.
It combines:
- underwater photography
- freediving exploration
- marine observation
Participants will:
- complete multiple snorkeling sessions
- learn underwater photography techniques
- use GoPro and underwater cameras
- obtain the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer certification
Objective: observe, understand and protect the ocean through images
